WEST END ALUMNI FUND SCHOLAR ATHLETE GRANT

The West End Alumni Fund program honors student-athletes who demonstrate promising academic ability and strong leadership skills in sports, in their schools, and within their communities.

Whether you are the lead scorer or the most spirited team player, we want to hear how you have taken the skills you've cultivated in the locker room and used them to create a powerful, positive impact on the lives of those around you.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Judges will evaluate each of the fully completed scholarship applications by evaluating the following critera, in addition to other items:

A West End Alumni Fund Athlete:

  • Is an embodiment of good sportsmanship

  • Has strong moral character

  • Is a trusted member of their community

  • Should display academic potential

  • Should want to give back to their community

  • Can come from any background, race or religion, we embrace diversity and those with unique upbringings

Prizing
(2) Two West End Alumni Fund Athletes will each receive a number, yet to be determined, in college scholarship money for their excellence in school, on their teams, and in their communities.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for the West End Alumni Fund Athletes Program, the applicant must:

  • Be entering college in the Fall of 2022 as a Freshman at an accredited four-year institution for an undergraduate degree;

  • Be currently involved in high school sports, intramural sports, or community-based sports.

  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.8; 

  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident (you will be asked to prove citizenship and age if you win); 

  • Not be an employee, officer or director of any company or organization associated with the Board of Directors at WEAF or any of its subsidiaries, or a member of the immediate family of such an employee, officer, or director.
